The wind was angry that day my friends. Our heroes had lost the lead, but were only coasting through the Nationals competition as if they had given up their drive and their will to win. The mixed-pairs team dynamics had stagnated, went flat, lost their momentum as the air movement flagged. Suddenly an inspiration! Was it desperation? Was it divine intervention? We may never know what clicked but they must have heard their calling: "lose the shoes." It was the turning point, the flashpoint that catapulted them back into the lead from which they never looked back.

Flight of Fancy
